Alex Ovechkin has scored so many goals in his 17-year National Hockey League career that many of his accomplishments are mind-boggling.

For example, Alex Ovechkin’s third period goal on Sunday against the Seattle Kraken was the 745th of his career.

After passing Marcel Dionne and Brett Hull earlier in the season, Ovechkin only trails Jaromir Jagr (766), Gordie Howe (801) and Wayne Gretzky (894) on the all-time goals list. It’s hard to deal with.

The graph shows us that Ovechkin absolutely dominated the Tampa Bay Lightning (49 goals in 74 games), the Winnipeg Jets / Atlanta Thrashers (48g in 67 games), the Toronto Maple Leafs (41g in 50 games), the St. Louis Blues (18g in 20 games), the Detroit Red Wings (20 goals in 29 games) and the Minnesota Wild (17 goals in 17 games) throughout his career. He’s even scored three times against the other recent expansion team, the Vegas Golden Knights.

Reddit Hockey commentator Baboshinu said Ovechkin “scored on 17 different teams when he first met them.”

The pursuit of goals and a normal offseason for training clearly reinvigorated Ovechkin.
