MIAMI (WSVN) – At least two people have been injured after a shooting near the FTX Arena in downtown Miami.
Miami City Police and Fire Teams responded to the Northeast Sixth Street and Biscayne Boulevard area just after 9.45 p.m. Monday.
At least two witnesses who saw the immediate aftermath of the shooting said they heard the gunshots and saw a puddle of blood near the arena.
In a cellphone video taken from a nearby resident’s balcony, sirens could be heard in the distance as officers and crews reacted to the scene.
Police said the would-be shooters were seen running south near the Bayside area, and it is not clear if the people running got there.
Both victims were taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
Officers closed Biscayne Boulevard northeast of Eighth Street. Drivers in the area are advised to find an alternate route.
