German esports organization Berlin International Games (FAT) announced a partnership with the global cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase.

The deal, which is based on creating digital activations through community engagement, will see Coinbase become a partner on BIG’s CS: GO list.

According to the statement, the partnership is specifically between BIG and the German department of Coinbase.

Along with BIG’s premium CS: GO listing partnership, Coinbase will receive a broad set of branding and content rights. This package will aim to raise awareness of the Coinbase brand and the services it offers.

Sascha Rangoonwala, Country Manager for Germany at Coinbase, commented, “Crypto and esports are two industries with huge potential and constantly evolving. Partnering with Germany’s leading esports organization helps us reach and educate digital natives more effectively about the benefits and risks of cryptocurrency.

Coinbase is a cryptocurrency exchange where users can buy and sell a number of different cryptocurrencies. Less than a month ago, the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) has licensed Coinbase Germany GmbH for crypto custody and training, enabling the company to provide a safe and regulated environment for its German customers.

Daniel Finkler, CEO of BIG, added, “Today we can welcome Coinbase, one of the world’s leading crypto exchange platforms, as a partner.

“The world of cryptocurrencies is an extremely exciting space, and my ambition is to educate more people about this rapidly growing ecosystem with all of its benefits and risks through our partnership. We are very happy to officially start our partnership today.

Partnerships with cryptocurrency companies have recently become popular with esports organizations. This year, people like Astralis, Navi, TSM, and Riot Games’ League Championship Series (LCS) have all partnered with crypto firms.

Esports Insider Says: Cryptocurrency partnerships are all the rage right now, and BIG was quick to follow suit with its own Germany-focused partner. As more esports organizations flock to get a piece of the crypto pie, it’ll be interesting to see who’s next to follow suit and pick a crypto sponsor.
