Questrade invests in benevolence with a donation to food banks
TORONTO, Dec. 14 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – In the spirit of the season, Questrade announced a donation of the equivalent of 250,000 meals to Food Banks Canada on behalf of Questrade customers and employees, as part of its annual campaign to help Canadian families in need across the country.
Starting in 2019, Questrade is launching a new program, whereby it will donate the equivalent of three meals (one meal day) to Food Banks Canada for each new account opened.
“While continuing our annual seasonal tradition, we recognize that many Canadians need help meeting their basic daily needs throughout the year,” said Edward Kholodenko, President and CEO of Questrade. “We strongly believe in supporting our fellow citizens, neighbors and friends and upholding our mission to improve the lives of Canadians. We are fortunate to be able to support those who turn to a food bank in our community every month, many of whom are children, which is why we are also increasing our support throughout the year. There is no greater investment than the one we make in each other.
“Questrade has been a wonderful partner for us over the past three years, helping provide meals to Canadians struggling with hunger,” said Chris Hatch, CEO, Food Banks Canada. “We are delighted to deepen our relationship in 2019 with this new commitment. Food security is an ongoing issue throughout the year and we appreciate Questrade’s foresight in helping Canadians beyond the traditional donation season.
Every month, 860,000 Canadians need help from a food bank, and a third of them are children. As a proudly Canadian company with a long-standing commitment to philanthropy, Questrade understands the attention it deserves and has chosen to embody the greatest value of its home country – caring for one another – with the announcement of its new initiative for 2019.
